Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima Joseph Lo @ Lo Tain Foh (Tan Sri Joseph)

Kuala Lumpur, 30 November 2024 – Sabah-based major road infrastructure construction player, Azam Jaya Berhad (“Azam Jaya” or the “Group”) (“大城集团”), regrets to announce that its Executive Chairman, Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima Joseph Lo @ Lo Tain Foh (Tan Sri Joseph) (丹斯里拿督斯里邦里玛罗天和), has passed away peacefully this morning at the age of 74.

Since his involvement in the Group’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Pembinaan Azam Jaya Sdn Bhd in 1992, Tan Sri Joseph’s visionary leadership transformed Azam Jaya from a modest construction firm into one of Sabah’s foremost road construction specialists. Tan Sri Joseph’s contributions to the industry were instrumental in delivering several first-of-its-kind infrastructure projects that greatly benefited his beloved home state.

Datuk Jessica Lo (拿督罗文圻), Executive Director of Azam Jaya, stated, “Today, we mourn the loss of a remarkable leader, a devoted father, and an extraordinary man. My father, Tan Sri Joseph, was a pillar of strength and wisdom, whose visionary leadership elevated Azam Jaya to where it stands today. His unwavering dedication to Sabah and its development has left a lasting mark on the industry. Our family and the Board of Directors remain committed to carrying forward his vision and legacy with the same integrity and passion.”

This sad news comes shortly after Azam Jaya’s historic milestone of being listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad on 11 November 2024, a testament to the foundation laid by Tan Sri Joseph.
